Project complete…
So here is the video project that I’ve been working on for the last 8 months. It’s the new promotional video for Lon Morris College. If you would like a copy, email me at: mjames@lonmorris.edu

Well folks, the semester is finally over. It seems like it’s been extremely long, yet it flew by so quickly. It makes sense in my head so don’t worry. This semester was my very last travel season. That’s right, no more endless weeks away from home, living out of a suitcase, bouncing from city to city. I’ll still have business trips but they will be more of my choice, on my terms. Although I am happy to be done with the travel, it is bitter sweet for me. I’ve made a lot of friends during my three seasons out on the road. I will really miss them dearly. I’ll keep in contact with most, but reality says that I’ll only be able to see a small portion of them face to face. To my TACRAO Alliance, I bid thee farewell.
That leads me to the next stage in my career. I am currently transitioning into my new full-time roll as communications director. The position isn’t really new, just the full-time part. I’m really looking forward to it because it will really give me a chance to prove myself to…well myself. This is somewhat of a new area for me. Most people in my position went to school in a related field, such as marketing or public relations. Not me, I got the people watchers degree (Interpersonal Communication). That’s okay though because I love a challenge. What fun would it be if it weren’t challenging? This switch will also alleviate a lot of stress that I’ve had lately with work. I won’t go into details but it will be a big relief.
This past weekend my friend and I ventured up to Fort Worth to attend Rhett’s ordination ceremony. He finished his Masters of Divinity and is now an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church. The entire trip was a blast. We met up with my brother and some other friends and really had a good time. Friday night we ate in downtown Ft. Worth and then I introduced Rhett and Paul to Pete’s Dueling Piano Bar. That is one of my favorite hangouts and it was a blast. Paul and Rhett really enjoyed it as well. We didn’t get there as early as I would have liked so we weren’t able to get a table. Rest assured that it did not keep us from having a good time! Saturday was the ceremony and afterwards we all went out to eat with friends and Rhett’s family. After that we headed back to East Texas where I proceeded to chill the rest of the weekend.
This morning I started my membership at the fitness center. That means that I start my morning by waking up at 5:45 to get to the gym at 6:30. Yeah, it will take some getting used to but it really is a great way to start off the day. Aside from feeling sick because the toxins are being flushed from my system, I feel great. By the first of the year, I plan to start my program. I’m using this time to get my body acclimated to working out again and to do my assessments and goals. I’m looking forward to getting back in shape and being active again! I’ll be sure to be y’all posted. Have a good day!
Well, I guess you can say I was on a blogging vacation. I really was because I just did not feeling like writing about anything. It happens.
I’m done with the traveling/recruiting seasons…for good. Now I’m just waiting on the official full-time transition into my new position. I can’t wait because it is long over due for some change. I’ve got lots of things lined up for the new year that I’m looking forward to implementing. If you watch the news, you should start seeing more stories on Lon Morris. I may even make a few appearances from time to time. Don’t worry, I’ll never be the guy that refuses to give out autographs. Come one come all!
On another good note, the semester is almost over. I’ll be looking forward to some much needed time off. I just want to be able to have some time to myself where I can do whatever I want. Hopefully there will be a group of us going to the Alamo Bowl this year in San Antonio. I’ve always wanted to go to a Bowl Game so I’m really looking forward to it. I don’t know exactly what I’ll be doing for New Years yet, but I’m sure I’ll have a good time regardless (irregardless for Kelly).
Robbie and Kristen had there baby Thanksgiving week. Kelsey Caroline was 9 lbs 1 oz. Thank goodness for C-sections! Next in line would be the Kahldens. Better start practicing holding babies Ryan. April’s just around the corner! I did get a chance hold the little one last week so I’m good!
Alright, I’m writing this in the office so I should probably get back to work. I should be able to update a little more frequently now. Get off my back Romack. Till then…love, piece, and chicken grease.
So I’m sitting here at work and I have a massive headache. I don’t know why I have a headache but I do. It makes it really hard to concentrate on the things I should be doing. What am I doing? I honestly don’t know. I really would like to go home. Just 3 more hours…at most.
The 6th season of Scrubs has finally come out on DVD. Yes I already own it. It makes me happy. I love that show. You should check it out. You’ll like it.
I’m through with this. See, told you I can’t concentrate.
You’re gonna bust on me for not posting in a couple of weeks. Really, a comparison to Finn? Never mind that I haven’t been home in about 8 weeks. That’s ok. I see how it is. Here is a post. Are you happy.
I’m in Fort Worth at the moment. I’m cutting this trip short and coming home tomorrow. Too many things I need to take care of on campus to be out on the road. This weekend will be filled with a whole lot of nothing-ness. It is possible that I will not be putting on any clothes until the new work week begins. Oh yes, I went there. I just want to do nothing but chill and veg. I think I’ve earned that. Feel free to stop by though. Don’t worry, I’ll be sure to put clothes on should you venture my way.
Here are some trailers for some really awesome movies. These are the first 2 movies of a fantasy horror trilogy. In short, they’re freakin awesome. Definitely a guy movie.
The first one is called Night Watch. It kicks the trilogy off and sheds some light on the story line.
The second is called Day Watch. This just came out recently on DVD. My favorite part is towards the end with the bus. Watch it and you’ll see what I’m talking about.
So, you know you want to check them out! Told you it looked awesome. The third movie will be out sometime next year. It’s called, you guessed it, Dusk Watch. What? You didn’t guess that? Oh…my bad. Now you know.
There will be another installment of the New Music Thursday posts. I have something special lined up for this week. Mr Kahlden will especially enjoy this weeks. Not going to give it away so you’ll have to check back on Thursday.
There. Now shut up Romack!
I’m in Houston for the next two weeks. The weather is drizzly; a cold front has come through; Houston traffic is still the same.
This week will be interesting because nobody knows what programs are still going on anymore. They’ve done a lot of changes with the TAKS testing schedules and not all of us have been fortunate enough to have been notified of the changes. What fun.
Season is half way over. I’m sitting at about 5,500 miles on the season so far. Don’t think I’ll top 10k but I’ll come close. We’ll see. I killed one of my plants. In my defense, I wasn’t home the previous 5 weeks to water it. Oh well. The other ones are still alive.
Time to get ready for Humble ISD. This is a huge program. Busy busy.
Well, I’m starting my fourth straight week out on the road. So far I’ve racked up a little over 3 thousand miles. I’ll hit 4 thousand by the end of this week. I’m currently working the Central Texas area from Belton all the way down through Austin to nearly the San Antonio area. Next week I’ll hit up the San Antonio area specifically. To say that I’m a little tired is an understatement. This travel season will last until the first week of December which means I’ve still got many more miles to rack up. I wonder if I can hit 10 thousand miles this year.
Oh, I almost forgot. Before I left the Dallas area, I decided to treat myself. I’ve never really been able to wear sunglasses so Saturday I decided to swing by the Oakley store in the North Park mall. I picked up a nice pair of Oakleys and was able to see some old friends at the same time. Why did I buy an expensive pair of sunglasses? On Friday I got Lasik surgery for my eyes. Yup, I don’t have to wear prescription glasses anymore AND I can wear cool sunglasses like normal cool people do. Of course my coolness is a little greater than others. It’s been a little over a week since the surgery and my eyes are great. I still have moments where I want to adjust my glasses. I figure that will continue to happen from a little while since I wore glasses for nearly 15 years. I’m also still getting used to seeing myself without glasses. It’s amazing how much of a difference they can make. I can see why no one could tell that Clark Kent was Superman…
I can’t make any promises about regular updates. I know I missed a post for last weeks New Music Thursday. I have decided I won’t post a make up for that one. I will try to get one up this week, but I can’t make any promises. I have 3 programs on Thursday plus I’ll be changing hotels as I move from Round Rock to New Braunfels. We shall see. If you’re in the Austin area, and you read this, give me a shout and we’ll see about getting together. I’ll also try to be mindful about being proactive on the phone calls myself.
Happy belated birthday to Autumn. Sorry I didn’t get you anything this year. I will try to call soon!
Another belated birthday wish to Heather. I promise a phone call to you as well.
If I missed anyone, I’m sorry. I’m a horrible friend I know.
There’s your update Ryan.
